Lollibox Product Review

I have never been the type to indulge Blake in arts and crafts, other than printing out colouring pages or have the husband draw the outline of something for Blake to colour in. I pretty much don’t do anything more with him.

I create gift boxes and many other party related items to earn some extra income, but it never crossed my mind to work on something that’s simple enough for Blake to create. I guess my heart just wasn’t really into doing arts and crafts with my boy. That, and also cos I keep thinking he’s too young to do anything complicated.

So when LolliBox approached me to do a product review for them, I was a little hesitant. I even asked fellow mommy bloggers, Madeline and Veraday, if it was something that I could work on with an active and very short attention span boy. Both told me their own experiences, and I decided to give it a go!

And soon, the box arrived at our doorsteps! Very efficient! The box was even addressed to Blake! How cute is that? 🙂

When the box arrived, we were pretty excited about it, and we took the chance to work on it on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

The theme we chose was ‘Sun, Sand and Sea’ (How ironic, right? Working on a sunny theme on a rainy day. Haha!) – a theme that is most manageable for children around Blake’s age. LolliBox covers creative activities for children aged 3-7 years old, by the way.

The stuffing that came in the box got Blake all excited.
And it’s not even part of the crafts he was about to do! Haha.

Showing Blake the first activity we were about to work on

It’s a sun-visor!

Pushing all the little dots out when daddy didn’t. Haha.

Ta-dah! All done! Hehe.

Next, we moved on to making a Flower Lei!

After watching daddy demonstrate, Blake picked the tubes up and followed.

All done! 😀

We then move on to the last activity – The Beach Ball!

Carefully reading the instructions

But the beach ball never got painted. Shortly after the above photo was taken, he picked the ball up and started running all over the house with it – throwing and catching it. Haha. We tried on another day to paint it, but the result was the same. Well, at least he has a new ball to play with now! Haha.

The boy’s master pieces 🙂

I gotta say, at the end of our craft session, I was mighty impressed with Blake’s concentration! I never expected him to complete two out of the three activities in one afternoon! And with this handy box of art and craft goodies, it sure made crafting with my boy a breeze. We all had fun!
