Anyone who knows me well enough will know that I ABSOLUTELY – that’s right, bold, underline, italic and capitalized – LOVE shopping online.
And the best kind of them all is shopping for groceries online!

The beauty about shopping for groceries online is that you never ever have to wait in line to make your purchase. And, you don’t have to go during the operational hours (Hello midnight shopping!).
And my favourite part… It gets delivered to your door step. Yup! Gone are the days of lugging tins of milk powder and packs of diaper home or anything else for that matter – complete with baby in tow!
Any idea how much I save on energy and time just by shopping for groceries online?
Let me give you a for instance.
· Travelling time to the nearest supermarket (including walk time to bus stop and then to supermarket) – at least 40 minutes
· Fumbling my way around the supermarket to pick out items needed (cos they are all over the place) – at least an hour
· Total amount of time spent to check on baby in carrier periodically (I would’ve been very tired by now) – at least 10 minutes
· Queuing up to pay for items – at least 10 minutes
· Lugging everything back to the bus stop/interchange take the bus home – at least 20 minutes
· Time spent waiting for the bus and then home sweet home – at least 40 minutes
The above are the best case scenarios (no stopping for milk feed, or diaper changing, or rest, or long queues and crazy crowds). Just to get my groceries done at a physical store, with Nakayla in tow, I have to spend at least… Please give me a moment to calculate… 3 hours!
Now, before anyone tells me it’s only 3 hours, you should try strapping a baby who’s at least 8kg heavy onto you, and then carrying all the groceries bags – hanging on your arms and shoulders (one bottle of laundry detergent is already 5kg in weight, so go figure the total weight for groceries), and taking the public transport home. I have to do this a couple of times a week just to get all my grocery shopping done cos, while I’d love to have, I have no ‘Super Woman’ strength. Only two words needed to describe this whole scene – Back Breaking.
But now that I have RedMart, I’m over the moon!
My RedMart purchases
Now, I have the luxury of time to play with Nakayla and bring her out, bake more for the family, and more time to get household chores done.
On top of all that, I get to buy everything in bulk. And I love buying things, especially the heavier items, in bulk! Ah, this is the life!
Oh, and did I mention that I get to use the husband’s credit card to pay for everything? Hehe.
