Gardens by the Bay: Tribal Tempo

I went nuts and bought another annual pass for myself – Friends of the Gardens!

The first trip to the gardens with Lin Ying back in July made me determined to get the annual pass on our next visit. So when a new theme was finally up, Lin Ying and I made a trip down.

After a futile attempt at locating a Pokemon neither of us had in the hot sun, we went straight to the Friends of the Gardens Centre to get my annual pass done.

Here’s a funny story… When they had to take a photo of me for the card, I didn’t expect them to take anything below my shoulders, but they did. So now, I have my mobile and my bag displayed gloriously on my annual pass. I joked that I’ll have to dress the exact same way, as well as carry my bag and hold my mobile as shown in the photo so that they’ll recognize me. Haha!

Okay. Maybe it’s not that funny of a story. Hahaha. Never mind. Onwards to the beauty that’s within the Flower Dome!

Imagine the amount of Aloe Vera gel you can get from this one plant!

Also, my favourite flower!

Tribal Tempo has a good mix of unique and common flowers that are native to South Africa on display. And of all the flowers I’ve seen, I only recognized one – Gerbera. It’s my favourite flower! And also, like someone mentioned, Gerberas can be found in almost every flower shop in Singapore. Haha!

To compliment the flowers, displays of animals and water features were found in the central area of Flower Dome.

I love how they tried to evoke the sense of openness and spaciousness that South Africa has with the simple layout. I actually prefer it this way. It makes Flower Dome feel less cluttered.

I might just head back again because… ANNUAL PASS! Haha!
