Meet the Parents

The First Decade

October 29, 2015

Once upon a time, I wasn’t as obsessed with photos. As a result, I did not hire professional photographers for certain milestones in my life and it soon became one of my few regrets. One of such milestone was our wedding solemnization from a decade ago. Fortunately for us, we still have some photos to keep the memories of that day alive. And these are my favourite, never gets old, photos.

Every time I see this photo, I remember how upset I was when I arrived to find my name spelled ‘MABLE’ instead of ‘MABEL’. It didn’t help that at the ceremony later on, which was conducted in Chinese, the Justice of Peace kept calling me ‘Jing Mei’ when my Chinese name is ‘Yin Mei’!

It never occurred to us that we were having a sort-of beach wedding until someone mentioned it to me years later. Haha! And this is the only photo of just us to proof we got married by the beach, at sunset too!

And this, one of the final photos we took that evening, after we all had fun and ready to head home (we had a late afternoon to sunset celebration). We spent a couple of hours the night before putting the car decoration together, only to realize that it was beyond tiny on our car. Haha! And to think while putting it together, we were still thinking it might be a little too big!

All that was 10 years ago.

This is now…

And we’ve multiplied!

Happy 10th Anniversary, Mr. Wong 🙂

Mrs. Wong

  1. People tends to spell our name as MABLE … I will get very upset and irritated too. Anyway, Happy Anniversary babe!

    1. They do that quite often, right? Now I just laugh it off, cos my mom told me the reason why I have two birth certificates is because my dad spelled it as MABLE in the first one, and had to go back and make a change. Haha!

      Thank you! 😀

    1. Our wedding dinner, which was held a year later, have pro photographer, but not the same also… cos it was the day we officially got married and said, “I do”. Really regretted not hiring one!

  2. Happy 10th anniversary!!! OMG you looked so young!!! Actually still look very young now but really XMM then haha.. We didn’t have pro photographer for ROM too (but our friend takes really good photos like a pro :P), just for the wedding.

    1. Thank you!! Haha! Seems like not very common to engage pro photographers back then. It totally didn’t occur to me but luckily I have aunts and uncles who were happy to whip out their cameras to capture these moments. Otherwise, really no photos man. Haha!
