Between movies and live theater performances, I personally enjoy the latter a whole lot more.
As someone who has been part of both drama/theater and film productions (nothing big, just stuff I’ve done in my schooling years and a little after I’ve graduated), I know the amount of work that goes into each production.
I’m not saying that one is easier than the other, because every single production is massive and involves a lot of people, but there’s one thing that live performances have that’s more intense – you only get that one shot per audience.
You don’t have the benefit of editing or a do over to perfect the scene… It’s basically a make it or break it kind of situation. And it’s because of that, that I personally find live theater performances to be pretty magical.
And speaking of magical…
Shrek, everyone’s favourite ogre, is brought to life on stage with the live adaptation of the popular animation film. Follow the hilarious story from the far away kingdom where an ogre is the one saving the day, or rather, a feisty Princess Fiona!
Based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek the Musical will be coming to Singapore for the very first time as part of its first ever international tour.
I’m super psyched to catch Shrek the Musical live with the children, which reminds me… There’s a way to get free tickets for the children to catch the musical!

Shrek the Musical is produced by Broadway Entertainment Group FZ LLC and NETworks Presentations LLC and presented by BASE Entertainment Asia. It will be playing at the MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands for a limited time period from 8 – 19 June 2016.
